@THEMOTOSOCIAL AND HOW THIS PROJECT STARTED?
Once upon a time, Viktor and I both sold motorcycles at different dealerships in the city. Through the process of getting to know our customers, there was a realization that we were lacking any general motorcycle community. We didn’t know many people that we felt
we could relate too and found that some of our customers also felt that way. So, 5 years ago, VIktor began hosting a small get together, inviting anyone who wanted to meet other people and enjoy a positive atmosphere, and who also had an interest in motorcycles within Toronto.
WHERE DOES YOUR LOVE FOR MOTORCYCLES COME FROM?
My history with motorcycles only starts in my 20’s. I didn’t grow up with them, so nothing from my childhood influenced my interest. About nine years ago, I was meant to go back to school for design but then those plans were disrupted by life and instead I needed to keep working. I ended up getting a job at a dealership and from there my interest in motorcycles grew. I had that feeling you get when you know you have stepped into something right and everything just clicks. I was meeting super rad people that I would never have met and was given opportunities that excited me. I began to discover what the moto culture was all about, and how it takes a certain kind of person to appreciate it. Nine years later and I am still just as intrigued.
ASIDE FROM MOTORCYCLES, WHAT OTHER PASSIONS YOU HAVE? WHAT LIGHTS A FIRE IN YOUR BELLY?
I think I have many passions, maybe too many. From interior and fashion design, Travel, new media, and community building/connecting people, and planning events, or maybe I’d call it planning experiences instead?
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Inspiration is random for me and found in many different ways. But, I do try to surround myself with people who are doing things, and accomplishing their goals. That way I will always feel inspired by those people who are closest to me no matter what.
WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH OTHER GIRLS?
Always be the positive one in your circle. There is no room for anything other than positivity in this world. Accept others even if they are different from you, and be the change you want to see, don’t just complain about it. Oh, and believe in yourself, so you don’t make dumb mistakes out of insecurities (still guilty of this BTW).
